Virginia Jean Maroney 81, of Strong died Sunday July 22, 2012 at her home. She was born December 23, 1930 in Strong and is the daughter of the late Travis Alpine Cobb and Myrtie Elizabeth Vestal. She was a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Strong and past Chairman of the church’s benevolence committee.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Joe A Moroney of Strong, two daughters, Carol Meshell (Richard) of Benton, Arkansas, Susan Ray (Michael) of Franklin, Tennessee, a brother, Alva Cobb (Janice) of Germantown, Tennessee, a sister Nelda Meshell of Strong, three grandsons, Brian Meshell of Rogers, Arkansas, Jon Meshell of Benton, Arkansas and Jordan Ray, of Franklin, Tennessee, two great grandchildren, Hannah Meshell, and Charlie Meshell, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday July 24, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Strong with Rev.Scotty Guillot and Luther Harris officiating. Burial will be in Teel Cemetery under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Chapels. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8pm at the Church. Memorials can be made to Life Touch Hospice.
